What is Cellular Regeneration?

In recent years there has been increased interest in cellular regeneration and regenerative medicine. It can be very hard to filter out what it is and what it’s not, but what is clear is that it has shown real results in treating pain naturally - without surgery or drugs.

What exactly is cellular regeneration? To put it simply, it is the process of repair. Our bodies have a unique and incredible ability to heal and repair itself. Just like any living thing, the body ages, and so do our cells. With the exception of nerve cells, heart, and muscle, all other tissue cells found in the body die off and are replaced with new ones each day; however, as we age, the body’s ability to self-repair begins to slow down and become less effective. This is where regenerative medicine plays a key role.

Regenerative medicine not only helps repair injury and degeneration in joints, ligaments, muscle, and bone, it relieves the pain naturally. By correcting or repairing the cellular tissue and muscle through procedures using regenerative therapies, the chronic pain that accompanies an injury will actually be relieved on its own without the need for symptom-masking and often addictive medications.

There are several types of stem cell therapies and regenerative treatments available, such as adipose and bone marrow; however, PRP or platelet-rich plasma and mesenchymal stem cells seem to have the most effective results with the least amount of risks.

Wharton's Jelly-Derived Mesenchymal Cells

Mesenchymal cells are young, vibrant and contain high concentrations of growth factors. This means that these cells have a quick regeneration process, healing injured or damaged tissue and cells at higher rates with long-lasting results. They also help strengthen the area, preventing future injury.

Mesenchymal cells are found in a substance called Wharton's jelly, which exists in umbilical cords. It is completely harmless to both mother and child. Donors are carefully screened to ensure only healthy tissue is collected and the procedure takes place during planned C-section births.

Because mesenchymal cells contain a variety of components such as growth factors, cytokines, peptides, proteins, and collagen, the healing and regenerative process is vastly increased once injected into the damaged area. Stem cell treatments of this kind are becoming more sought after for the effective pain relief they can offer and the many injuries and illnesses they can help restore such as:

  • Torn ligaments
  • Cartilage damage
  • Back, neck, and shoulder pain
  • Herniated or bulging discs
  • Hip pain
  • Knee pain and meniscus tears
  • Foot pain
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Osteoporosis
  • Arthritis

Regenerative cells provide powerful, effective and natural pain relief so that you can avoid risky and invasive surgery. You or a loved one may have already had some experience with surgery to try to correct and injury, and know the pain and long recovery time involved. Surgery isn’t guaranteed to correct the problem; in some cases, it can create more.

Regenerative medication offers a natural way to heal with minimally invasive procedures, no downtime, and long-lasting results. Talk to our doctors about the best course of action for you.
